Before ButterHaf became a brand, I was simply a mother trying to find a snack I felt comfortable giving to my young son.
At his age, every bite matters. As a parent, you want food that's simple, wholesome, and made with ingredients you can understand. But every visit to the supermarket left me with the same feeling.
I kept picking up packet after packet, turning them over, reading long ingredient lists, and asking myself,
"Is this really the best I can give my child?"
I wasn't looking for a miracle snack.
I wasn't looking for perfection.
I was simply looking for a biscuit I could feel good about sharing with my son—and one I would happily eat myself.
The more I searched, the more I realized there wasn't a product that truly matched what I was looking for.
So I stopped searching.
Instead, I asked myself,
"Why don't we make the biscuit we wish existed?"
That single question became the beginning of ButterHaf.
I shared the idea with my brother, Gautham, and together we decided to build something from the ground up. We spent months researching ingredients, testing recipes, baking batch after batch, and refining every detail until we created a biscuit we were genuinely proud to keep in our own kitchen.
Our Recipe Philosophy
Our first recipe is built on a simple philosophy: Use ingredients that have a purpose.
That's why our first biscuit is made with ragi, whole wheat, butter, and nattu sakkarai—carefully chosen ingredients that reflect what we wanted for our own family.
ButterHaf isn't here to promise perfection.
We're here to create honest snacks with thoughtfully chosen ingredients and complete transparency.
